Lovers Eye

"Would you like to dip your toes into renaissance painting for an afternoon? What to learn a bit about the tradition of Lover's eye paintings, as well and have a go at immortalizing your very own love? Then why not join our “Paint your very own Lover's Eye” at TeaDarling in Acton!

It will be a grand afternoon in good company, full of cake and art. You will, through hands on brush-wilding, learn a bit about the basic materials and techniques of real renaissance painting. Never held a brush before? Not to fear, this workshop will be suited for all adult skill-levels, practised as well as complete novices and at the end you should have your very own miniature to bring home. You just have to decide who to paint! Be it man or beast, your lover, your mum, your dog, cat or canary..maybe even your self as a gift to a lover. All you need to do is bring a good high resolution photo of the eye of your beloved and we will provide the rest:) Who knows perhaps there is a brand new hobby waiting for you at the end of it.

The workshop will be run by award-winning Danish artist Anja Altenburg, who has exhibited her works all over the world. She has made it her mission to make traditional painting accessible to all and her goal is to show that our perception of the classical techniques is all but an illusion, it is neither difficult nor does it require a god given talent. Anyone can play along and with the right instructions, it will be come clear that is easier and even more forgiving than modern materials like acrylics. But most importantly she wants to show the world that classical painting can be fun!

Tempted? Then why not join us! The cost will be £25 including tuition, materials and tea. Spaces will be limited to ensure the quality of the workshop, so hurry up and contact Pam today! We cannot wait to meet you"
