Denise makes greetings cards, gift tags and colourful beaded jewellery. She was born into a creative family - her father was a very talented artist - but the creative gene seemed to have passed her by until October 2014. She bought a jewellery making kit to alter a bracelet which was slightly too big and the rest is history. The jewellery side of the business was followed in June 2015 by the cards and gift tags.
Denise uses sterling silver and a variety of glass beads - including Murano, Czech and Swarovski - or semi precious stones to create her pieces and uses pre-loved beads where she can. Her range includes earrings, bracelets and necklaces.
She has a new range of jewellery made from silver metal clay. There is zero waste - any dust from sanding is reconstituted or kept as silver paste and leftover clay is kept moist and reused. The possibilities for designs and textures are endless and it is a lovely product to work with. Once fired it leaves a pretty piece of fine (99.9%) silver.
Her greetings cards and gift tags are individually made - each design is hand cut from fabric or craft paper and is subtly embellished with gems, buttons or bows. Denise is always happy to accept commissions for both jewellery and personalised cards.
She also sells a range of printed cards from Gagglegoose Green Art. These are from original paintings by her father, west London artist John Bird, and are available exclusively from Denalis.
Denise is a regular trader at the Sugar and Spice Flea Market at various venues across Ealing; at Fox Market W7 held at The Fox in Green Lane Hanwell and at the Duck Pond Markets in Chalfont St Giles. Denalis Jewellery and Cards are also stocked at Amreen's Gifts and Interiors in Hanwell.
