The Queen of the Suburbs team are great lovers of the simple pizza. Particularly of the Neapolitan variety (that's thin crust), luckily for us Ealing boasts two of the best Neapolitan pizzerias you'll find this side of London.
With such a great selection already on offer, it's not an easy sell to lure us to somewhere new. But, as we like to support all quality local Ealing ventures, we recently tried a selection of Firezza's new Naples6 menu and were more than pleasantly surprised.
The first thing we judge a delivery pizza on is the condition it's in when it arrives. Firezza delivered us pizzas that were hot, and with good 'bite' - sadly, in our experience, delivery pizza is more often soggy than not. The base was maybe slightly thicker than their competitors, but had great flavour and was clearly from a stone baked oven. The toppings and overall flavour were excellent and definitely on par with other local quality pizzerias.
One of the more unusual things was the pizza was square. They're a similar size to your normal round pizza, but if you order 2 pizzas they will come as a 1/2 metre 'pizza slab' with a different topping every 1/4 metre. It's worth noting for couples with a meat eater and a veggie, that they don't seem to combine the two into one pizza. Another Firezza USP is they offer vegan cheese and gluten free base options.
Overall we were impressed. Firezza, and their Naples6 menu have some steep competition in Ealing, but they held their own. We'll definitely be adding them to our Friday pizza shortlist.
