Three Bridges Park

< Parks and Nature

We love discovering local days out. We recently visited Three Bridges Park in Southall to wow our transport mad kids with Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s feat of engineering: an intersection designed to accommodate three modes of transport.

The canal is underneath the road bridge, and the railway line is below the canal. We went on to discover a lovely walk through the surrounding open space. Through open fields, past a nature reserve and discovering a brilliant playground. We returned to the three bridges walking back along the canal. Great day out and right on our doorstep!

Search for “Three Bridges Walk” on Ealing council’s website. (or click here for the PDF). There’s a printable guide and podcast (acting as a self-guided walk) for those wanting to discover more about the history of this part of the canal and beyond.
